Sell Your House As-Is
You may want to sell without completing a renovation, replacing dated finishes or preparing a home for showings. An as-is sale can also involve specific repair problems or belongings left behind. House For Cash reviews the actual property rather than assuming every as-is home is severely damaged.

As-is can describe very different houses
A dated kitchen can still function. An unfinished renovation may need a different review from a roof or window-related water problem. Deferred maintenance, cleanup and a seller’s preference to move without updating can all matter. Tell us what is known about the property and what you want the sale to accomplish.
Four different as-is sales
121 Colburn Dr, Manassas, Virginia
An inherited home had been neglected and needed substantial rehabilitation. The seller lived about two hours away and did not want to take on the work. House For Cash purchased it as-is in April 2019.
12701 Weiss St, Rockville, Maryland
The retiring owner no longer needed the larger house. It was dated but functional and generally in good working condition. He chose a private as-is sale rather than renovating first.
1001 Carnation Dr, Sebastian, Florida
Family handled the transaction under power of attorney. The home had roof and stucco issues, water damage around windows and some belongings remaining. It sold as-is; the case does not establish an exact repair budget.
1700 Rose Alice Rd, Texas
A daughter sold her father’s inherited home in dated, original condition. The completed August 2024 sale illustrates an as-is decision that did not depend on severe damage.

Decide which preparation is worthwhile for you
Compare a direct offer with the time, expected expense and uncertainty of preparing and marketing the home. The relevant questions include what work is needed, what you can manage, whether contents will remain and how the proposed terms fit your plans.
Discuss known problems and the intended condition at closing. “As-is” should not leave the parties guessing about what is included in their agreement. Each transaction still has its own review and closing requirements.
Our process
- Describe the house, its known condition and your preferred next step.
- We review the property and discuss a purchase proposal if it is a fit.
- You decide whether to accept; the agreement sets the terms and closing conditions.
